Splendid Bhutan
Bhutan, the Land of
the Thunder Dragon, is no ordinary place. This is a country where
buying cigarettes is illegal, where the rice is red and where
chillies aren’t just a seasoning but the entire dish. It’s also a
deeply Buddhist land, where men wear a tunic to work and where Gross
National Happiness is deemed more important than Gross National
Product.
Bhutan is straddling
the ancient and modern world and these days you’ll find monks
transcribing ancient Buddhist texts into computers as traditionally
dressed noblemen chat on their mobile phones.
Besides the stunning natural scenery, the enduring image of the
country for most visitors is the strong sense of culture and
tradition that binds the kingdom and clearly distinguishes it from
its larger neighbors. |

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi Arriving Delhi, you will clear customs and immigration. Leaving the airport, you will be met by our representative, holding a play card with your name on it at the exit. Arrival transfer to hotel. Assistance for check-in will be provided. Overnight at hotel.
Day
02 - Delhi - Paro Arrive Paro and you will be met by our representative, holding a play card with your name on it at the exit. Arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Dinner) Day 03 - Paro After breakfast visit Drugyel Dzong which still attracts visitors due to the strategic location of the fort. The fort defended the Paro valley from the Tibetan invasion from the north in the early 17th century. Then visit Taktshang monastery, generally regarded as bhutan's most recognizable cultural icon, the taktshang monastery, or tiger's nest. Overnight at resort. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Day 04 - Paro - Thimpu After breakfast check-out from the hotel and take a 2 hours drive through the beautiful valley of Paro to the capital city Thimphu. On arrival check-in into hotel. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Day 05 - Thimpu After breakfast Hike to Tango and Chari Monastery. Round trip to Tango Bhuddist College -3 hours. Continue hiking to Chari Monastery (Bhuddiest College). Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Day 06 - Thimphu - Punakha After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Punakha. Visit weekend market, Memorial chorten, Folk heritage museum and handicraft emporium. Also visit Mini zoo. On arrival check-in into hotel. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) |
After
breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Gangtey / Phobjikha.
In the mountains east of Wangduephodrang lies the beautiful
Phobjikha valley, on the slopes of which is situated the great
monastery of Gangtey, established in the 17th century. Later on
explore Gangtey village and Phobjikha valley. Overnight at hotel.

After
breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Bumthang. The
Bumthang valley lies at an altitude of 2600 metres. This valley is
the religious heartland of Bhutan and home to some of the oldest
Buddhist temples. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After
breakfast full day excursion to beautiful Ura Valley, walking
downhill from Shertangla Pass – 2hours.Picnic lunch will be served.
On the way back, visit Burning Lake or Mebar Tsho, Holy
Lake.Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After
breakfast rest of the day free to explore Bumthang. Overnight at
hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After
breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive via Pelela Pass and
walk down to Nobding Village. On arrival check-in into hotel. After
check-in visit visit Wangdue Dzong. Overnight at hotel.
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Thimpu. Free time for shopping. Later on drive to paro. On arrival check-in into hotel. Overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Day 13 - Paro - Delhi (Departure)
Early
morning check-out from the hotel and in time transfer to airport to
catch flight to Delhi. On arrival you will be met by our
representative, holding a play card with your name on it in the
arrival lounge. Car and driver will be at your disposal until
transfer to International airport to catch flight back to home. |
